History: Saransk is a wonderful city that's situated in Mordovian Republic. The city was a kind of a solitary place but currently it develops rapidly. A lot of buildings have already been built for the last few years. Moreover, many football stadiums are being built and more are going to be built by the beginning of the World Football Championship in 2018!
Places of interests: There are plenty of sights that are really worth seeing! For example, a museum of S.Erzya (a famous mordvinian sculptor whose sculptures, which are very mysterious, were mostly made of special kind of wood), St.Fedor Ushakov Cathedral which is fabulous, amusment park and so on.
Tourists' information: Accommodation and public transport cost as much as in other cities (so, there isn't a big difference in prices). More than that, the city is amazingly clean that is quite rarely for other cities in Russia.
It's a realy wonderful city!I've haerd about it.The city has a large number of buildings remaining from the 17th and 18th centuries; however, many parts of the town are dominated by Soviet era apartment blocks, dating mainly from the 1960s, similar to other provincial towns which expanded rapidly due to fast industrialization.
