Should live trees be cut down for Christmas trees?
Should live trees be cut down for Christmas trees?
No "The Christmas tree is one of the major decoration centerpieces and should be the eye piece in a home. But when the issue comes to where the tree should come from, cutting live trees down is a horrible thing to do. As we know, trees are vital to keeping our CO2 emissions down but as trees disappear each year, saving each tree becomes a goal. Trees breathe just like humans. They take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. With each tree we cut down, we are simply hurting ourselves more. And all this for what?"
Yes "The annual trip to get the tree is a treasured tradition in our family. I remember so many happy times as a child when my Dad would lead an expedition of booted, muffled, bundled children out into our own woods to hunt for the perfect tree. Good memories last far longer than the plastic tree that is put back into its box after New Year. Every year, when the boxes of ornaments are dug out of the basement and the wonderful aroma of pine or spruce fills the house, I unwrap each precious hand-made Santa or reindeer and think back, remembering loved ones now gone, and my children now grown, and all the happy, happy hours spent finding, decorating and enjoying each year's perfect tree." Well, many people many opinions! And what do you think about it?
Well...I like natural fir-trees:) Actually it's the second year when there is a natural one in my house. I agree with you that artificial trees can be more practical. But still nothing can substitute these smell and beauty of a natural fir-tree
yes, I do agree with you, girls. And, besides, just a simple artificial tree can be used many-many times. The same can't be said about the "live" ones, it's obvious. I just don't like this idea - to cut down a tree to enjoy it's beauty for a week and then throw it away... It becomes useless after a Christmas party... The number of withered Christmas trees lying among the garbage on the streets makes me dejected... No. Cut live trees aren't for me... But I do like it when there are some fir or pine branches in the house. They can be decorated or not, but in any case they create this inimitable aroma of pine needles)))) To get some branches you do not need to cut down the whole tree, so, you don't "kill" it... Less harm, but almost the same result - magic atmosphere of New Year

As for me, I don't want to have a live fir tree. There are always so many needles on the floor even after the New Year. Furthermore, an artificial Christmas tree is usually more beautiful, more luxuriant.
