A a lot of movies are based on books, it's not a secret. A lot of popular cartoons are based on books too, it's also well-known. But did you know that a popular green kind-hearted monster Shrek used to be a character of a picture book? Shrek! is a picture book written and illustrated in 1990 by William Steig. In these “ancient times” nobody expected it to become little boys and girls' favourite story. This book was believed to be “just one among thousands of this kind”. The whole story was very short and later when it turned out to be an animation a great deal of new characters and events were invented. When an idea to write a book about a monster came to W. Steig's mind, he told his wife about it. “A monster? Well, it is green. And it has horns”, - answered his wife and as we can see now she was the very person who created an unforgettable Shrek's looks. After a while William Steig showed his pictures to a animator and... the result is well-known all over the world. An animation about a young ogre who finds the ogre of his dreams when he leaves home to see the world becomes a certain franchise. Today Shrek is everywhere - on your T-shirt, on your bag, on your laptop screen...But it all began with a book)))
Unfortunately, I didn't read the book (to be honest I didn't even know about it). I' m going to watch the movie, but I'm sure I won't enjoy it. May be it will be better to read than to watch
For me is was a surprise to find out that the movie was based on the book too)))But why are you so sure that you won't enjoy watching the 4th part of it?
She is really pretty)) Last weekend I watched Shrek Forever After and I really liked it! I should say that Puss in Boots is amazing))) And we all know the fairy tale about him.
I remember when i saw "Shrek" for the first time, my little nephew said, that the movie wasn't dreadful at all. More than that he said that Princess Fiona is pretty when she is an ugly green monster))) Any way i think this movie is kind)
