Underwater photography
The world underneath the surface of the planet is no less interesting than what surrounds us afloat. Going deep inside the water layers can inspire you to take pictures of the aquatic wildlife and suppose you’ve got a specialized camera, you may produce real masterpieces. Serious underwater photography indeed is extremely expensive. The fact that you also need to possess a good physical fitness should not be cast aside, but all the training you have to go through will repay you a thousandfold. Underwater photography is incredibly rewarding. There are countless bizarre, colorful animals, shimmering coral reefs, and towering kelp forests that beg to be photographed. It also often involves traveling to remote locations, and can be totally exhausting.
Like many people, I grew up watching Jacques Cousteau specials, and scuba diving is something I always wanted to do and hopefully can manage to try in the future. Taking pictures underwater is also very challenging especially for beginners. There are lots of things that hinder your taking pictures. First, your biggest enemy is the water itself. Even crystal-clear tropical water is not as clear as it seems. More importantly, the greater the distance light travels through water, the more warm colors (reds, yellows) are absorbed. If you dive to a depth of 50 feet, virtually everything will appear blue/green. The solution is to eliminate as much water between you and the subject as possible. This can be achieved with the help of special lens and other photographical equipment. Encountering wildlife underwater is often quite different than any experience on land. Most terrestrial animals have a natural fear of man, and flee at the first opportunity. So a coral reef is the best object to photograph as it won’t run away from you the moment you swim up to it.
So taking up underwater photography is a splendid way not only to make rattling good pictures but it is also a way to explore the nature, to discover secrets beyond the reach of landsmen. I am in a daze looking at the underwater photos. Those which are taken with ultimate flair make me muse on the fact that underwater photography for many people is the sole source to find out about the beauty of the waterworld. Approaching underwater life is always a mystery, and when you take a picture, you chase a piece of this magnificent underwater reality on your memory.

I am really amazed by all these photos! I also think that the sealife is exciting and magic because there are so many different kinds of fish and other creatures underwater. By the way, I have always liked programmes about wildlife (especially the sealife), even now I can see such programmes.
I would really like to take such underwater photos by myself one day!

These photos take my breath away. When I see them I remmember Jacques-Yves Cousteau, a French explorer. His films about sea life are precious to me because they are full of mystery and beauty.

Yes, actually when I acquainted with this kind of pictures for the first time, they were like a flash-back to my childhood...I adored the programmes by Cousteau and to tell the truth, what they showed was somehow unreal and unbelievable to me. Even to the present day I seem to consider the underwater world to be something secretive or even sacramental as we probably will never worm out all its mysteries. surprised

Actually I've never been at sea, that's why the underwater world seems to be a bit unreal for me. There is something in its colours, shapes and textures that reminds me of the primeval beauty which reigned on the Earth millions of centuries ago. In fact this world didn't change a lot retaining species so archaic and rare that the aquatic regions represent the most interesting and enigmatic place for a man to learn about the history of our planet.
And the pictures I picked out for this blog entry prove, to my mind, that people should be more attentive to the beauty of the past and the present so that to keep it for the future.

We don't disregard them,I think. We just don't come across them every day, that's why their beauty is so astonishing for us.

The last photo is awesome... Being BW, it seems to represent a fabulous flower in a mysterious forest. I can't tear myself from this snapshot. It's a piece of another world frozen in the pic...

When I was in Egypt I bought an unerwater camera there. It was disposable camera with only 36 frames. It wasn't expensive, so I bought it, just for fun. But the photos were fantastic, everything was so bright and coroufull. I wish I had bought 2 or three ones.

Ocean is full of mysteries and this makes it so attractive for people. There, in the depth, we can find a completely new world! But it's also very dangerous to take such pictures.

All these photos are tremendous. But the first one fascinates me. Underwater world is so unusual and so beautiful that even observing it makes us feel elated and inspired.
