Maybe it’s a bit immodest but I decided to write about my band!
=Orleans= band started about a year ago and consisted of 4 members – Alex – leading guitar, vocal and lyrics, Ilya – solo guitar, Vasya – bass guitar and a drummer, whose name I don’t want to open up – he abandoned the group because of some strange reasons, and then guys found me. Before that I had been fussing around with a couple of punk, indie and brit-rock groups for a few months but there was nothing serious. I came to a rehearsal and understood that it was the band I was looking for! The guys liked me too and we started to work. Our first gig was held at Cheranto Pizza-Place. We participated in a retro-party and performed 4 of our songs and 2 covers – Iggy Pop – 1969 and Runaway by Del Shannon. I don’t remember now whether our performance was good or bad – I remember only that I was really rather nervous! After that we started an active gig graph – about 4 or 5 performances a month – we performed at Planetary, Underground, Cheranto, at an annual open-air festival «Nashe Leto - 2009». In summer we started to work at our first home-made demo-EP, consisting of 3 songs – «Jamaica», «Coma and Head» and «Tequila». During that period we participated in several festivals – MY CITY MUSIC – where we won one of the prizes and LITE-FEST – one of the most influential Ryazan festivals of non-heavy bands, where we performed in a headliner block, played an acoustic concert at «Stariy Park» bar. Now we are recording our debut album «The Molecularity of a Chain» which will consist of 12 songs – the new ones, like «Subway-City» as well as our first songs like «Links», and one bonus-track. The album will see the world approximately this spring.
Our music is filled with the atmosphere of spiritual and creative hangover and provocative life philosophy – sometimes it is melodic and calm and sometimes loud and furious – we can not exactly determine our style but in two words it is funk-rock’n’roll. On the other hand – how can you understand our art through words – come to our gigs and wait for the album!)))

Max, I agree with the guys. Upload some of your recordings so that we could listen to the tunes made by your group. When is the group's birthday? Are you going to celebrate it? How? A live concert? Have you ever written a songs? Do you think you would like to write lyrics? Your photos have given rise to a new project for the whole group under the same title 'City Life - Forget or Remeber'. I think it will be photo reports about popular city events. For example, the photo of your concert at the Nashe Let Festival can be fine for a start.
At first Alex writes some lyrics and music sketches. Then he brings the material to our rehearsal place and we work it throgh together - everybody thinks about his own role in the song, about what to play. After that we develop the song's structure, atmosphere, different accents and pauses,think 'bout the whole mood and idea of the thing. Eventually it takes about a month or two to make a new song in order to play it on stage.
You say that everyone develops their own role in the composition. And what about quarrels? Do you often face misunderstanding? I think this is a key point in the work of the band, because any existence depends on the relationships. Teamwork always presupposes a lot of patience and ability to accept different viewpoints. Do you cope with it?
