Well, I think you will probably ask me why i am still writing about the break dance and nothing more. But there are so many different styles of it that's why i write about it a lot. Well, today i will describe another four styles - Hitting/Ticking; Strutting; Saccin' (Sacramento style); Filmore. So, the first technique is - Hitting or Ticking. These both terms means the fixing. It means a sharp reduction of muscles and as a result - a push, but not very hard. But some people think, that "hitting" means your own movement in dance. The dancer uses these sharp reductions of muscles during movements. In other words, "Ticking" - something like "Strobing" but smooth and with the fixing. Strutting. Strutting as a break's style means leg's movements. The essence of such a technique is that the whole step breaks into the set of little steps. For example:The dancer stand, his right leg is in front of him, his left leg is behind and the body is in the middle. When you do your usual step, your left leg will be in front of you and your right leg will be behind you.But dont forget that you've made only one step. And now imagine that you are breaking this step into two. That means that firstly you need to put your left leg to the right leg and only then finish you step. In such a way you've made two little steps. Saccin' (Sacramento style). As you see from the name of this style, it was born in Sacramento. This means a distinctive movements of your legs with the fixing. The pose "A":the right leg is behind you, your left leg is in front of you,the body is in the middle, the body weight is on the both legs. The pose "B": the same with the pose "A", but your left leg is behind and your right leg is in front of you. During the step, you need to move that leg that is in front of you and she will be behind you and another leg will be in front of you.The body wont move. That is the whole secret of this type of breaks. And the last style for today - Filmore. This style took place from the Filmore street. There is not much information about this style. But Filmore means movements of hands with following of accurate corners. Your hands are straight or are bent at right angle.
Irene, do you want me to show you all this kinds of break? i'll do it in "fontan" restaurant, when we will celebrate New year with our unigroup))))I will do it on the stage special for you, darling
Well, I do think that the idea about the video is really good)))to tell the truth, while I'm reading your articles, I can HARDLY imagine the break-dancers and their movements(( May be, my imagination isn't developed enough? But still, I remember one thing. Frank Zappa once said "talking about music is like dancing about architecture"... Well, I quess, that writing about dancing is something of that kind... It's not because it's not interesting, of course it is!!! But it will be much easier for us to understand what you are writing about if we SEE it)))) BUt still, thanks for your articles))))))))))))) I think no one has ever made me more interested in dancing than you has)))))
Well, I think the world of break is quite interesting. Actually, I'd like to learn how to dance break, but it's not the main aim for me now. Sasha, in my opinion it will be good, if you upload some videos concerned with this or that break styles.
